NEW RELEASE!
This CD-set is the latest release from artist Ben Schwendener. The themes on this album were inspired by specific soundbanks on select vintage synthesizers serving as unique ´instruments´ unto themselves.
Ben declares, "My love affair with older analog and digital keyboards returned full force, unleashing a marriage of old and new. I’ve never been happier with a release!
After performing this music live over the past three years, the group finally captured it on on this 2-CD set; Ben's first solo release in a decade.
Industrial Folk Music is a multi-leveled thematic work that was recorded in just over three days in Ben’s home studio, Gravity Arts, with award-winning sound designer and engineer, Dan Hallas.
Plans are under way for a Summer / Fall 2012 collaboration with the the Swiss modern dance company ADN Dialect with performances and residencies in Boston and Europe.
The dynamic and natural real-time interactions of the live performance are beautifully captured. Ben adds, "These amazing artists perfectly capture the musical vision I was striving for." Eric Lane, Bhob Rainey, Gregg Ramsey, Bridget Kearney and Mike Calabrese combine two large piano/synthesizer setups, guitar, soprano saxophone, acoustic/electric bass and drums/percussion.
