About this work, Shari comments: "The seed for 128 sprouted just there in a traffic jam (128 is an eight lane interstate loop surrounding Boston). With nurturing, it has morphed into a collaborative between husband and wife, musician and dancer. It asks us to ponder what we know about life, and how each of us affects our surroundings and its direction. The work is designed to convey the idea that everyone has an impact — based on cause and effect — in this world."
The approximately seventy minute show features five dancers and five musicians. The musical language comprises a blend of ambient jazz, rock and free improvisation. The dances incorporate stylistic elements of modern, jazz, African and ballet.
